Biden Foundation Announces Three New Members of Board of Directors
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Biden Foundation announced Monday three new members to its Board of Directors: Micaela Fernandez Allen, Director of Global Public Policy at Walmart, Nicole Isaac, Director of U.S. Public Policy and Government Affairs at LinkedIn, and Darla Pomeroy, Manager of Pomeroy Investments, LLC.
As members of the Board, Fernandez Allen, Isaac, and Pomeroy will help oversee the Biden Foundation’s key initiatives, provide feedback on policy objectives, and guide programming as the Foundation continues to implement its mission through public policy programs.
“Micaela, Nicole, and Darla’s considerable policy expertise from inside and outside Washington, and their demonstrated commitment to protecting and advancing dignity and equality for all people, will make a key addition to the Foundation’s board. They bring not just a dedication and intellect, but strong business and financial backgrounds that will strengthen our pursuit of that mission,” said Senator Ted Kaufman, Board Chair of the Biden Foundation. “I look forward to including their insight, expertise, and perspective in our work.”
Fernandez Allen, Isaac, and Pomeroy join existing Board Members Senator Ted Kaufman, Ambassador Mark Gitenstein, Valerie Biden Owens, Jeff Peck, and Mark Angelson.
Micaela Fernandez Allen is Director of Global Public Policy at Walmart, managing policy issues and relationships with policy makers enhancing Walmart’s reputation and supporting Walmart’s business with a new initiative, the Walmart Policy Lab. Before she joined Walmart, Fernandez Allen was appointed to the role of Special Assistant to President Obama in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the White House, where she developed and executed strategies and partnered with multiple federal agencies to further President Barack Obama’s legislative agenda. Earlier, Fernandez Allen served as an Advisor to then–Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. She has also served as the Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the U.S. House of Representatives, managing bipartisan planning and intergovernmental coordination for major congressional issues and ceremonies. She began her career in the office of Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald of California.
Nicole Isaac is the Director of U.S. Public Policy and Government Affairs at LinkedIn. She is responsible for LinkedIn’s day-to-day policy and government affairs portfolio, and engages with the Administration, Congress, and policy-oriented NGOs on issues ranging from privacy and security to workforce policy issues. Isaac previously served as Principal at theGROUP, where she managed relationships with Fortune 100 companies. She taught international business and geopolitics at Georgetown, and founded a social impact accelerator, Code the Streets, to increase resources to inner city communities. Isaac was previously a Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, where she guided President Obama’s policy priorities before the Judiciary, Financial Services and Appropriations Committees. Before that, Isaac was Deputy Legislative Director for the Office of the Vice President.
Darla Pomeroy is an entrepreneur who currently manages Pomeroy Investments, LLC, a private equity portfolio. Most of her career has been in the telecommunications and technology industries. She was an owner and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development of Edge Wireless, LLC, where she was responsible for its formation, financing, regulatory and legal affairs, acquisitions, and sale to AT&T. Prior to Edge Wireless, Pomeroy was Vice President of Business Development at NEXTLINK Communications and McCaw Cellular (now AT&T). Early in her career, she was a litigation associate at an international law firm and Staff Assistant to the Majority Chief Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
